Dawn Cotton Fuge was born and
raised in New York. Her interest in beaded jewellery began
at the age of 13 when she made bracelets and sold them on
commission at a shop near her home in Manhattan. She studied
Vocal Music at the famed High School of the Arts.
In 1989 she moved to the UK and completed degrees in Anthropology
at Durham University and Law at Edinburgh University. It
was after the birth of her two children, Aidan and Joely,
that Dawn returned to her artistic roots and began to create
unique items of jewellery. She was influenced in part by
her very talented aunt, the jewellery designer Jeanette
Cotton.
Dawn quickly built up a dedicated client base in the UK.
Working with only the finest quality semi-precious gemstones
cut to her requirements in India, Dawn produces unique
items of jewellery that have a romantic edge, reminiscent
of the glamour of the 1930s, but reinterpreted for today.
